When can I deliver or collect my pet/s?

Monday to Friday – 8am to 12 midday and 1pm to 5pm (we’re closed for lunch between 12 midday and 1pm).
Saturday – 8am to 12 midday
Sunday/bank holidays – 2pm to 5pm
We take pets in 365 days of the year, but we’re closed to owners and visitors on Christmas Day and New Years Day.

How much exercise will my pet/s get?

Your dog will have access to an outside run attached to their kennel all day. He/she will also be able to enjoy a run off the lead in our large grassed paddock twice a day. We’re happy to socialise your dog with another if you wish, but we’ll need your written permission. We also offer extra lead walks at £10 per hour.

What vaccinations does my pet need before boarding?

Your dog must have its annual vaccinations/inoculations and be covered for kennel cough. If you have a cat, s/he must have his/her annual vaccinations/inoculations. Vaccination cover must be current for ten days before arrival and for the full duration of any stay. We’ll need the vet’s certificate/s for your pet showing proof of relevant vaccinations.

Will you administer medication to my pet/s?

Yes – one of our team is a qualified nurse and can administer medicines. Please provide clear written instructions regarding dosage and method – and times – of administration. A standard charge of 50p per injection will be made.

What if s/he becomes ill?

We hope your pet has a happy, healthy stay here, but if for any reason we have to take him/her to the vet we’ll of course let you know immediately. Any fees including transport charges can be settled when you collect your pet.

Can you collect or deliver my pet/s?

Let us know when you book, and we can collect and return your pet whenever you like. We charge a minimum of £20 for each journey (collection or delivery).

What do I need to bring with me when dropping off my pet?

We provide all bed/bedding and bowls, but you’re more than welcome to bring any bedding and toys if you think it will help your pet/s to settle quicker. We provide a range of wet and dry food, but again, if your dog requires a specific diet that we don’t stock, feel free to bring this with you.

How do puppies / older dogs / quiet dogs /social dogs cope?

The staff at Gedrys are used to looking after dogs of all ages and temperaments. We have a structured routine that most dogs easily adapt to. Puppies tend to settle quite quickly and treat the experience as one big fun adventure. Social dogs also tend to settle very easily as mixing with other dogs can give them a fun way to pass the time. With quieter and older dogs we find a bit of TLC does the trick in settling them in. A bit of a fuss and making sure the dog is warm and comfortable can be enough to make them feel at home.
